Players vs Nagy?

Writer's picture: Benjamin HerronBenjamin Herron

It is no secret that everyone in the NFL media world is not a huge fan of Matt Nagy or any decision he has made. It makes sense, Coach Nagy is an absolute idiot and always will be.

His play calling is god awful. While at Chicago, he has yet to make the offense even a little bit compatible with the defense. In Nagy"

s first 3 years, the Chicago Bears offense comes in at an average rank of 26th in yards per play.

This year, Matt Nagy has embarrassed himself once again. The Bears offense is ranked dead last in total offensive stats currently in the 2021 season.

Justin Fields is the most sacked quarterback in the NFL and the passing offense is averaging 124.4 yards a game which is dead last in the NFL. The only bright side is that Ryan Pace keeps finding diamond in the rust running backs that keep the offense barely a float.

The media, the fans all want him out. Do the players want him out too?

Some of the signs are pointing to yes they do and they might be nit picky signs but who cares it’s another excuse to make a change in the Bears organization.

Last week, star cornerback Jaylon Johnson posted a photo on his Instagram story of a letter of him being fined by the Chicago Bears for being late.

The caption wrote, “This shii crazy bruh walked in as it turned 8:16 and they tax me like this.”

The star corner has since apologized for the post and said he didn’t mean to post anything.

This is me overreacting, but this could be something. A very young talented player on the team is complaining about getting a fine for only being a minute late. He doesn’t understand why and is pissed he got one.

Just like a lot of people, they go to social media sometimes when they are frustrated. Is Johnson frustrated with Nagy and the fine was a cherry on top? Probably not, but who knows.

Something else that has caught attention that needs to be looked at is Jason Peters press conference today

Peters mentions that Lachavious Simmons was put in a bad position against the Bucs because he was placed at right tackle shortly before the game even though he never took a snap in practice at that position(Via Bears YouTube Channel).

It makes sense now, Simmons wasn’t prepared by his coaching staff to play right tackle and that is why he got dominated all game.

Justin fields also admitted that he had no idea Simmons was going to start at right tackle. Little communication and little preparation leads to an NFL team making you look like you should coach 8th grade football.

Peters is a smart veteran player who has spent a lot of time in the league. This little nugget in this press conference speaks volumes. The players know that this Nagy system doesn’t work at all.

It is only of matter of time before Nagy losses the whole damn locker room.
